      Communicative And Responsive Education (CARE)
 
In the fast changing scenario today one has to be properly educated and adequately trained for any job or assignment. Apart from education and training, one needs to have a dynamic and forceful personality, which no doubt is inherent in all, but needs to be developed in most. There are a large number of institutions imparting the necessary education and training, however, there is hardly any institution looking after such an important aspect of personality and career development.

Care is a programme designed to equip the student teachers with requisite Communication, Interactive and Responsive skills to help them to develop those characteristics and qualities that shall enhance their personality that can help them to be successful in their professional lives.
  
 CARE comprises of two components:
   
 PDP: Personality Development Programme
 CDP: Career Development Programme
   
 In the light of coveted and ambitious objectives enlisted above, the institute is trying to achieve not only these very objectives but many more also.
   
 Objectives
   
 · To develop a clear perception of process of effective educational communication (EEC) emphasizing role of EEC in teaching.
· To make student teachers aware of barriers in EEC.
· To develop in Student Teachers the ability to discriminate between effective and ineffective communication situations.
· To inculcate in them positive attitude towards profession and students.
· To develop in Students Teachers the ability of effective interpersonal relationships with students.
· To develop better communication skills.
· To develop in them responsiveness and situational flexibility.
· To develop in Student Teachers the ability to apply Effective Educational Communication in various contexts and situations.
· To inculcate in them an insight of their own communication behaviour by SWOT analysis while communicating with students.
· To give student teachers exposure to experienced teachers through career conferences.
· To hold interactive sessions for sharing classroom experiences.
   
 Content Specifications
   
 (i) To develop a clear perception of EEC, Relate EEC in teaching/ learning general understanding of process of communication. Barriers in EEC, Effective and ineffective communication situations.
(ii) Attitude towards profession and students. Relationship between attitude and EEC, Personal Schema and EEC (Genuineness, Affection, Reflection, Sense of Humor, Encouragement).
(iii) Communication Skills 1 - Conceptual framework - Verbal & Non verbal communication.
(iv) Communication Skills 2 - Application (Speaking and Listening, Exploration, Writing and presentation skills, Probing, Media handling).
(v) Responsiveness & Situational flexibility.
